About Me

After graduating from CUNY York College in 2022 with a B.A. in journalism, I immediately wanted to advance my studies in the field. I chose to pursue an M.A. in engagement journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, and graduated in 2023. Much of the program involved learning to connect with communities by developing trust and understanding before crafting a story. Sometimes that meant conducting meaningful surveys or showing up in community spaces to understand needs and information gaps. Establishing an understanding of a community prior to reporting has always been paramount to the stories I've covered and the sources that trust me to represent them fairly.
